Intangible Gift Ideas

I think it's often overlooked that gifts don't need to be something you can wrap up in a box and bow.

Some of the most impactful gifts I've given and have been given have been intangible.
They've been experiences.

This type of gift is especially meaningful for those recipients for whom "time spent" is their love language because they typically involve a lot of togetherness with their people.

1. Family Photo Shoot - book a local photographer to take family photos.  This is the gift that will keep on giving  year after year because every time your loved one looks at one of the printed photos they will remember that day and time.  You could even make it a whole day with dinner or lunch after the photo session.

2. Day or Overnight Trip - find somewhere fun to go that isn't that far from your home.  Go for the day or book a hotel and stay for the night.

3.  Book a Cooking Class - this can be fun for significant others, friends, mothers and daughters - really any relationship that loves to cook or even just experience new things together.  Things might be different with Covid, but google cooking classes in your area and availability should pop up!

4. Spa Day - this can involve going to the spa, but if you're trying to keep costs down you could set up an in-home spa day.  Order some spa products from Amazon and put together a basket with a card that invites them to a spa day on a specific date!

5. Zoo/Museum Membership - this is especially fun for a family, but also for couples.  I had a zoo membership when I was single, myself!  Most of the time these types of memberships pay for themselves in one visit and come with a lot of additional perks!

6. Story Worth  - this is tangible in the sense that you get a book at the end of the year, but also intangible because it collects memories that you will have forever.

7. Racecar Experience - this is a little more pricey, from my research, but if you have the budget for it or a milestone birthday or anniversary gift for your thrill seeker it would be so fun!

8. Date Box - there are several services you can use to purchase a date box, but you can also make your own.  I'm not even just talking about a romantic relationship but mother/daughter, friends, etc can all use a "date box".  Get a vessel (box, bag, etc) and fill it with things you can do together and then put a note in explaining it and letting them know to pick a day/time for your "date" to go down.

There are so many more options than this, but hopefully this gives you some good ideas for your gift giving!
